Parliament House

Hello, guess who I saw today! MM Lee & PM Lee, among the many ministers. :)

Well, I think today was a very good experience as well as an eye-opener. If only we could have stayed on a little longer. I'd love the observe the session live.

I feel inspired to be a politician. Haha.

Life

This is my newborn cousin, Si Hui. She was born sometime last week (15/16 July); I'm not sure of the exact date. But anyway, she's really tiny (small feet, small hands, small nose... so cute!!!) & has really smooth skin, I like. :::)

Anyway, I feel old. When she is finally 16, I'll already be 32. What will I be doing at 32? Married? With kids? I just hope I won't have to resign myself to auntie-hood yet.

I think when people reach a certain age, appearance starts to decline, like I've mentioned previously. But life is enriching, isn't it? Well, it depends on how you view it & whether you've made the most out of it. Our sense of achivement is likely to increase. However, if you've screwed your life up, too bad.

I think the above points can be fitted into a supply-demand graph.

Life... Is stressful. Singaporean kids will never get enough sleep. 'cos all they do is study & study & study. That's what I'm going to do now.

Parliament, Secret

We're the LUCKY Sec4 class that has been selected to attend a Parliament session at where else... But the Parliament House itself, of course! I'm looking to gain insight into whatever I can but I cannot stand the word "lucky"; it just sounded wrong there. Anyway, I hope it'll be fun, no, interesting. "Fun" seems to make it sound like a trifling affair.

Let's try this:

Baby photos, JC

Been bringing my baby photos to school over the past few days. This sparked a bout of narcissism in me... I love me when I was a toddler!

Then we talked about an average person's peak appearance-wise & came up with a graph. It resembles the sine graph (I think), with age being the x-axis & appearance being the y-axis. The first peak is always during the toddler period while the second peak varies from person to person.

Today, VJC's principal came to school to hold a talk. He was a nice, roly-poly man, someone to take to at once. He hoped we'd put VJC into consideration as one of our choices. If only I can score that well, yea.

Taking a Chem/Bio science combination doesn't warrant as much freedom in choosing your subject combination in JC as taking a Triple Sci or Phy/Chem combination. This is pretty annoying. I think MJC does have a pretty wide range of subject combinations though. :)

Alright, time to study. Prelims coming in 4 weeks' time. Need to complete past-year papers!!!

That was really fun. :) I hope I can have such fun everyday after the 'O's before I fully commit myself to JC mugging lifestyle. I have a sudden surge of school 'culture shock' & honestly, the generic vibe I get from polytechnics can be described aptly with one word -- intimidating. Prove me wrong, please!

Hehe, I don't mind studying forever, oops. It's actually quite fun 'cos right now, I can't go a day without studying. But that's good 'cos it shows that I'm not gonna lose the motivation to study anytime soon!

I have to attend some Chinese Debate thing at NTU tomorrow. Sunday, yes, Sunday! I pray hard for it to be interesting. The only reason why I'm going is 'cos I've already promised Winnie to be her partner. Also, I usually attend the 9.30 a.m. Mass which ends at 10.30 a.m. & school is only 2 stops away. I can't believe everything is being laid out so nicely. x)

For NTU: iPod, check. Novel, check. Chocolates, not-really check. Just in case I get really bored...
